Amidst an outpouring of joy and cultural pride, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III CFR, the Olu of Warri, yesterday made a historic maiden Ugwa Olu visit to the spirited Orere-Uluba community.
With unrestrained delight, the people welcomed Ogiame, hosting a magnificent reception adorned with resplendent cultural performances and graceful dances that wove threads of unwavering loyalty and deep reverence into the very air.
In the warm afterglow of this royal embrace, His Majesty embarked on a gracious walk through the community, drawing close to his people in a moment of shared heritage. The rites reached a poignant climax at the waterside, where Ogiame, in keeping with custom, offered prayers of blessing upon the land, waters, and the enduring spirit of the Orere-Uluba people.
This Ugwa Olu ceremony not only celebrates the faithful stewardship of Orere-Uluba during their quarter of Ghigho Aghofen (Palace Watch) but also heralds the ceremonial handover of this sacred duty to the next community at the upcoming Ghigho Aghofen on December 20, 2025.
Following the visit, His Majesty proceeded to the ancestral Ode-Itsekiri, where he inspected the newly completed Trans-Warri-Ode-Itsekiri Road, a transformative infrastructure project delivered by His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, further strengthening the bonds of progress and connectivity across the Warri Kingdom.
