The waters of the Warri River came alive as they became a living expression of our history and identity—a reminder that, for generations, our rivers, while serving as pathways connecting our communities, have also been the lifeblood of our people, our culture and our commerce.

His Majesty Ogiamẹ Atuwatsé III, CFR, the Olu of Warri, hosted the Royal Regatta to mark the 5th Coronation Anniversary of His Majesty’s reign. Communities, families and groups came together in a spectacular display of colour, tradition and pageantry, with boats boldly displaying the richness and heritage of each entity they represented.

The Regatta was a celebration of where we come from, while pointing confidently towards where we are going. It brought together communities, families, young people and friends of the Kingdom who had come from far and near to witness the richness of Itsẹkiri culture and the enduring spirit of the Warri Kingdom.

Five years into His Majesty’s reign, the journey continues, rooted in the wisdom of our ancestors, strengthened by the unity of our people, and inspired by a vision of a prosperous, vibrant and globally connected Warri Kingdom.
